Another beer that kept eluding me, even though it had been out for months. I didn’t go after it purposefully, but I looked around on the shelf. Finally I saw it and bought it. An addition to the lineup of Zhiguli Barnoye – Zhiguli Barnoye Mango-Maracuya.
Let me say right off the bat that I am not a fan of fruit beers, much less any kind of “smoothies”. It’s not that I deny them the right to exist or that I don’t like the taste, no. Sometimes it’s tasty, bright and flavorful enough. But! Beer in these cases is usually somewhere in the background or does not play a role at all, as with most “smoothies”, where it is the juice concentrate or mashed potato. Therefore, I did not expect anything special from Zhiguli Bar Mango-Maracuya.
Zhiguli Bar Mango-Maracuya (Russia, Moscow region, Mytishchi) – 4.5/15 Mango flavor is bright and can be felt as soon as you pour. Taste contrary to expectations is not sweet, which is a big plus! In the aftertaste, a nice bitterness is added to the mango-maracuja theme, which doesn’t come across as “chemically”, which makes up for all that tropicalness.
Enjoyed drinking it while squinting into the spring sunshine! Would definitely go down well in the summer. IPC as always – well done, surprised me. Rated “B”.
