Some unexpected wind blew a beer from the Kantsler brewery in Voronezh into our village shopping center. Of course I bought it, though I didn’t expect anything good. Small brewery, delivery to Moscow and sale in an ordinary store… Especially since the beer I had previously tried from Kantsler’s had not caused much enthusiasm.
Spring Lager (Russia, Voronezh) – 4.5/12 Lager with dry hops. Claimed to be an IPL, but definitely not. However, it is a very drinkable pure lager. Dry hops gave grassy notes in the aroma and aftertaste. Unpretentious, but not bad and has the right to exist. Rated C+.
Blanche La Manche (Voronezh, Russia) – 4.5/13 An odd blanc. Something in between, between a blanche and a weitzen. There are banana notes and very little spice. Coriander and zest are also not listed in the composition. It is very likely that the vayenne base is fermented with the yeast for the blanche and the spice notes were formed as a result of the yeast. Otherwise, like the lager – pithy, clean. C+ Rating.
