As promised, I’m continuing to explore the Weiherer line of beers that recently appeared in the “Rest” chain. It costs about 250 rubles, so the greed did not allow me to buy everything at once. Today we are studying Weiherer Keller-Märzen and OS-wALT. While carrying the beer in a bag, somehow the label got torn. No offense!
Weiherer Keller-Märzen (Germany, Weier) – 5.6/13 The aroma is yeasty, but not strong. The yeast is also in the aftertaste, but is perceived more as raw dough. The body is full, dry. A little nice grassy hop, a little caramel and flowers in the aftertaste. Very pleasant unfiltered mertzen. Rated B+.
OS-wALT (Germany, Weyer) – 5.2/12.6 Not quite a classic reading of the “alt” style. Also unfiltered. First brewed in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the brewery owner Oswald Kundmüller. The aroma has a bit of toasted malt. The taste is soft, rounded, but moderately dry at the same time. The aftertaste has some caramel and grassy hops.
I found it less caramel than the Dusseldorf viola, but the beer is balanced and tasty. Rated B+.
